The Public Test Shard (“PTS”) has been updated with the first wave of Mage Tank Gear. There’s mainly Storm Legion World, Dungeon and Raid Mage Tank vendor Gear. There’s also two versions of the new 2-hander END rune that are introduced specifically for Mage Tanks using Staves.
As for other crafted recipes for Mage Tanks, you will have to wait until after Patch 2.7 is released as they will be released during the release cycle. [r]
Mage Tank Vendor Gear
There’s new Mage Tank Vendor Gear up on the PTS with the latest update for Storm Legion World (Infinity Stones), Dungeon (Empyreal Slayer’s Marks) and Raid gear (Empyreal Slayer’s Marks, Frozen Eclipse Stones, Fragments of The Ward).
The Mage Tank Vendor Gear requires the same types of currency and the same amounts as their DPS counterparts. (i.e., Empyreal Conqueror’s Fortified Cowl costs 2,700 Infinity Stones; same as Empyreal Conqueror’s Cowl.)
Here’s the Helm pieces and their various upgrades and side-grades for Tier 3.
The side-grades provides different tank stats, Deflect, Dodge or Parry with slight adjustements to stats.
Helm for Tier 2.
Note: Only the Tier 3 Synergy Crystal is up on the Rift Store currently on the PTS.
Mage Tank Weapons
There’s a variety of Mage Tank Staves and Ranged Weapons found at Rift Store -> Equipment -> Weapons. Tier 3 hasn’t been updated with Mage Tank weapons, but Tier 2 and below have the Staves and Ranged Weapon.
TOUGHNESS
Just a quick run-down for the aspiring tank mages out there, your Shoulders, Chest, Legs and Feet are what gives you the Toughness stat whilst the usual pieces – Helm, Gloves, Weapons, Neck and Rings gives you the Hit stat. You will need both Toughness and Hit as a Tank.
HIT/Toughness Required per Tier
Tier | HIT Required | TOUGHNESS Required |
---|---|---|
Storm Legion Expert | 300 | 300 |
Storm Legion Tier 1 | 400 | 400 |
Storm Legion Tier 2 | 500 | 500 |
Storm Legion Tier 2 | 600 | 600 |
HIT/Toughness Given per Gear
Tier | HIT Given | TOUGHNESS Given |
---|---|---|
Storm Legion Expert | +53 | +100 |
Storm Legion Tier 1 | +65 | +125 |
Storm Legion Tier 2 | +78 | +150 |
Storm Legion Tier 2 | +90 | +175 |
Synergy Crystals
Right now only the Tier 3 Synergy Crystal is available (which is also available on Live). Chances are we’ll see them when Patch 2.7 launched on 7th May 2014. This can be obtained from Rift Store -> Equipment -> Accessories.
Essences
There’s no new Mage Tank Essences as of yet. Hopefully they have some available for Patch 2.7 launch.
Capes
There’s no new Mage Tank Capes as of yet. Hopefully they have some available for Patch 2.7 launch.
Neck Accessory
There’s a Mage Tank World (Infinity Stones) Neck Accessory on the PTS under Rift Store -> Equipment -> Accessories for 2,400 Infinity Stones. The first upgrade requires an Empyreal Vanquisher’s Cell and the second upgrade requires an Empyreal Hero’s Cell. These are obtained from Rift Store -> Equipment -> Upgrade Parts for 6,780 and 9,480 Infinity Stones respectively.
Total would be 18,660 Infinity Stones assuming the upgrades only goes to Hero’s. If it goes to Subjugator’s, the Infinity Stones amount required to fully upgrade would be higher.
Note: Right now there’s only two upgrade paths because the Vanquisher’s upgrade path is stuck on an endless loop with itself. This is likely a bug that will hopefully be fixed by May 7th. Once fixed it should have a Hero’s and Subjugator’s upgrade path like its DPS counterpart.
Rings
There’s only the Mage Tank World (Infinity Stones) Ring up on the PTS under Rift Store -> Equipment -> Accessories for 1,680 Infinity Stones. The first upgrade requires and Empyreal Vanquisher’s Small Cell and the second upgrade requires an Empyreal Hero’s Small Cell. These are obtained from Rift Store -> Equipment -> Upgrade Parts for 5,070 and 7,110 Infinity Stones respectively.
That’s a total of 13,860 Infinity Stones to fully upgrade.
There’s no Expert, Tier 1 or above Vendor gear for Mage Tanks on the PTS at the moment.
New Crafted Runes
There’s two new crafted rune recipes available from Rift Store -> Crafting -> Runecrafter.
- The Lustrous version recipe costs 30 Grandmaster Craftsman’s Marks and 100 Master Craftsman’s Marks.
- The Auroral version recipe costs 18 Master Craftsman’s Marks and 200 Artisan Marks.
The Runes provide END+110 and END+64 respectively for Two-handed weapons, intended for use with the Mage’s 2-handed Staves.
Other Craft Recipes
Other Mage Tank Crafted Recipes will become available over the Patch 2.7 Release Cycle but likely not at launch. [r]
