Trion had their 30th January 2015 Friday Livestream where they talked about the upcoming Tier 1 20-man, Tyrant’s Forge.
The recorded video is kind of strangely split this time around. It starts at 56min 20sec into this video here and continues on here.

Trion had their 30th January 2015 Friday Livestream with Community Manager Eric “Ocho” Cleaver, Senior Game Designer Nicholas “Captain Cursor” McDowell, Game Director Christopher “Archonix” Junior and DEV_Anony.
As always, everything can be subject to change prior to the content hitting Live.
Tyrant’s Forge – General Info
Tyrant’s Forge is a 3-boss Level 65 Tier 1 20-man raid set on Tyrant’s Throne.
- Release Date: 4th February 2015
- Bosses: Johan, PUMPKIN, Mechanical Tyrant (Mecha Crucia)
- Entrance: /setwaypoint 6588 9104

Tyrant’s Forge Entrance
Anony also mentioned that the Johan fight was tuned for expert-geared players, but has more mechanics than Bulf in Mount Sharax.
About Loot in Tyrant’s Forge
In terms of loot, there are Best-in-Slot Rings, Necklaces and Capes. Anony mentioned that the Capes have procs (something that is new to RIFT) and that the procs are percentage-based rather than value-based, so they scale with gear.
Defeat Johan

Johan – Jellyfish, Tank AoE
Mechanics – Johan
Anony briefly went over some of the mechanics of the Johan fight. Some of his mechanics are based around ‘scent’.
Debuff on Tank
One of the abilities puts a stacking debuff on the tank, causing him to pulse a red AoE that increases in size with stack. The idea is that the tank starts to smell more. The tank needs to wash off this scent under one of the waterfalls in the encounter area.
Jellyfish Adds
This smell also attracts the neutral jellyfish that spawn throughout the encounter. Normally they just wander around with a small red damaging AoE around them, but if a tank gets near them they’ll slowly approach the tank.
Looking at the livestream, it seemed like the jellyfish die to Johan’s electric cone AoE.
Not much else was shown. You can read up on further information about the Johan fight here.
Loot – Johan

Johan Loot
Anony hovered over the loot that Johan dropped. These were two tank rings, each with a relic upgrade.
Trash Pack after Johan

Guardian Angel Adds
Anony mentioned that the four ‘Guardian Angel’ adds after the Johan fight have a special mechanic you have to know how to circumvent. The four adds hurt. They are blue, green, yellow and red in color.
My guess is that you just need to tank them apart, or maybe have two per tank, and tank those duos apart in some kind of color combination. One possibility is that this is a reference to the ‘impossible’ colors being combined together, or set apart – like blue-yellow and red-green.
PUMPKIN

Tyrant’s Forge PUMPKIN
PUMPKIN is the second boss of Tyrant’s Forge. Anony stated that the fight is a lot about positioning.
Mechanics – PUMPKIN
Anony only briefly showed the fight and since he wasn’t in a raid group there might be a whole bunch of other mechanics not shown. I’ll list what was visible for the brief moment that Anony spent on the boss as he crashed a few times and left the boss without killing it after a while.
Cooling Vats

PUMPKIN – Cooling Vat
There’s 4 cooling vats in the area. You have to run into them at some point. It seems either this is a boss cast you have to hide from or a red swirling AoE on you (debuff) that you have to remove, similar to the removal mechanics in the Raid Rift: Sea of Ladon.
Unfortunately the dev client crashed when he entered so I’m not 100% sure if it removed that red swirling AoE on him or if that is part of a different mechanic.
Turret AoE & Rust Shield

PUMPKIN – AoE Turrets and Rust Shield
At some point in the fight PUMPKIN will drop an AoE turret/foothold with two spinning AoE cones similar to the ones you see outside Gyel Fortress.
PUMPKIN will also put up a Rust Shield which is highly visible around his body. Not sure what this mechanic is about, but perhaps you need to tank him so that he gets hit by the AoE cones, whilst you and your raid are safe in the non-AoE areas to remove the shield.
More AoE/Constructs

PUMPKIN – Constructs
At some point PUMPKIN emotes “Overwatch Constructs deployed” and 4 construct adds appear, shooting out a single red AoE cone, moving anti-clockwise.
There are four constructs that appear in the four corners of the encounter. The AoE are large enough that they overlap in the middle – so positioning and proper movement will be important.
Shock Therapy
Other than the above mechanics, the only other thing shown in the fight is that he emotes “Preparing Shock Therapy, cooling vat 4”, which likely means that every now and then he ‘closes off’ one of the four vats. Perhaps this is also a soft enrage where once all 4 vats are closed off, you will no longer be able to remove your debuff.
No loot was shown because the boss wasn’t killed.
Mecha Crucia

Mecha Crucia
Not much was shown of the Mecha Crucia fight. Anony had issues starting the encounter, apparently because PUMPKIN wasn’t killed or some other issue.
The only thing shown was that Mecha Crucia has two lasers attached to two conduits with green AoEs to the sides of the encounter. There’s also two adds guarding the conduits.
PUMPKIN Mount

PUMPKIN Mount
Anony showed off the PUMPKIN mount, which is an achievement reward for completing Conqueror: Tyrant’s Forge found under Achievements -> Raids -> RIFT: Nightmare Tide -> Tyrant’s Forge. It uses the Manslaughter/Empyreal Walker rig.

[Blue Yeti Mic represent!]
A Tyrant’s Forge livestream that unfortunately stumbled upon quite a few issues from various crashes on PUMPKIN to Mecha Crucia’s encounter not starting. Still, a few interesting tidbits were revealed, including the fact that there’s BiS capes with %-based procs!
