RIFT news tidbits for 1st June 2015.

General

• About Threat Change. As mentioned last week, the 40pt root Tank passive is becoming a passive based on Endurance (currently on PTS). Red Hawk has explained this change further:
  • Threat bonus will scale linearly with Endurance.
  • Each point of Endurance will be worth 0.0002 Aggro multiplier.
  • If you have two tanks in similar gear but with slightly different Endurance values, their threat bonuses will be very similar. [r]
  • Threat bonus from the 40pt root passive will now apply to everything you do (dps, taunt, heals/etc) instead of just from damaging attacks like what it is on Live.
  • New change will mean the passive is ‘actually passive’ and won’t have to be triggered each time you use a damagingabout:newtab ability. The change will be better for servers. [r]

• Dimension Item: Rope Issue. The Rope dimension item on the PTS currently costs 720 Credits. This will be adjusted to a more appropriate amount. [r]

• New Game In The Works? Megathalios on the RIFT Forums has discovered that Trion is hiring a new Senior Database Administrator. The description includes “You will deploy and manage a linux MySQL database backend in multiple datacenters for our next game.” The last part seems to suggest that Trion is indeed working on a new title! Could it be connected to the ‘REACTOR’ trademark they filed last December?

• Minion Cards Updated. Two minion cards have been updated in the Minion Card Database.
  • Cerulean Steel. Max stats are 7 Water, 18 Notoriety and 30 Max Stamina. (Thanks to Wabbit@Laethys for the info!)
  • Ryuu. Max stats are 18 Life, 7 Hunting and 30 Max Stamina. (Thanks to Gordi@Zaviel for the info!)

• Rift Wardrobe: Faction Gear. Only play one faction? Perhaps you’re missing out on a ton of faction-specific gear! Personally, I love the Defiant PvP weapons, and you only need 54,000 Favor to cover it all. More info here!
