The Oracle is the new 3.0 Soul for Clerics. It is a Support soul that uses Water and Death abilities to support the team.

Obtained: “Dream Soul Pack” from Rift Store -> Services for 5,000 Credits (4,500 for Patrons). The Dream Soul Pack provides you with the Liberator, Physician, Arbiter and Oracle souls, applied account-wide.

Lore

The Oracle comes from a future, alternate timeline where they attempt to forestall the annihilation of Telara. In this future, various planar creatures have teamed up with the Ascended to fight back against creatures known as the Tenebrean.

In this timeline, Tasuil seems to be a leader – there is a Divine Council – and the catastrophe that has befallen them “was really the plan of their long-dead gods”.

Syntyche the Oracle – the last Kelari on Telara uses the Failsafe to go back in time – to our timeline.

More information can be found on the Rift website’s Oracle post here as well as during the Runic Athenaeum Soul Quest Chain.

Soul Abilities

The Oracle soul is a Support soul with buffs, debuffs and a variety of damaging abilities.

It used to be called Crusader when it had life-based attacks but this was changed due to overpowered synergy with Inquisitor’s Life and Death Concord. It was thus changed to be a Water/Death soul. [r]

  • Currently 61pt Oracle is more DPS than 61pt Bard. [r]
  • Debuffs are AoE. [r]
  • Oracle’s versions of motifs and fanfares are the same as bard but work differently. They do not stack with bard versions. [r]
  • Magelo has a PTS Soul tree builder for the Arbiter soul (and other 2.7 souls) here.
  • A list of Soul Abilities can be found at Magelo.

Again, reminder that everything is subject to change. Any linked information may become outdated.

Guides

The earlier alpha testers have begun setting up guides for the new souls. As the souls are in-flux, any changes made to the souls between now and the time the guides are written may cause the guides to be out-dated. However, these should hopefully give a fair idea of how the souls work. Below are links to any guides players have made in relation to the new souls.

  • Soulshield: 61 Oracle Guide
Has a combination of specs – 61 Oracle/10Def/5Inq; 61 Oracle/10Cab/5Inq and 61O Oracle/10Just/5Inq (PvP) with rotations, skill explanations, KaruulAlert sets and macros.
  • Burninalways: Quick Oracle Guide
Various specs, buff info and both a standard and starting rotation with macros and ability breakdown.
